We arrived home Thursday afternoon around 4:00 pm. So glad to be done traveling, but we had a wonderful trip! Arizona in April is pretty much the perfect vacation. The weather was great and the kids had a fabulous time! Here's what we did:
- Survived the travel. Barely. We started with a 6 hour car ride, followed immediately by a 3 hour flight. My kids do NOT sleep on airplanes, we discovered. Even when it's WAY past their bedtime. Thankfully they were excellent in the car, and the flight on our trip home was an hour shorter. Phew.
- A lot of swimming in the pool! Eli was unfortunately afraid of the pool until almost the end of our trip, so he only went swimming 3 or 4 times, but Ella was in there pretty much every day, usually more than once! And every swim in the pool had to be followed by a "bicycle!" (Seriously, if she can say 'popcorn' why can't she say 'popsicle'? 'Bicycle' it is. Her favorite flavor was grape.)
- We walked down the street to the neighborhood park pretty much every day too. Ella played in the sand, ran through the field, and mastered the very steep slide. Eli ran around on the playstructure at unearthly speeds and pretty much gave me a heart attack every 90 seconds. He is one busy kid.
After my little weekend jaunt to meet Chris in Salt Lake City, I arrived back in Arizona just in time for a little Easter Egg Hunt.
Ella immensely enjoyed the company of her cousin Jaxson for a week. They played, wrestled, fought....and sometimes shared ; ) They also encouraged each other on the potty! I'm happy to say that Ella is now daytime 'peepee' trained. She is still in diapers at night, and unfortunately likes to poop in her underwear. I'm sure we'll get there eventually, but I'm very proud of the potty progress we made - big girl underwear all day long, with no wet accidents! Only messy ones.
We had a great time away, though we missed Daddy a lot! We are happy to be back at home and done our travels. Eli was SO happy to see his daddy! He was all smiles and girly screams. Ella got shy and nervous, but got very upset when Chris had to go back to work, so we know she was happy to see him too!

Looks like such a blast... I love holidays with the Goetz ladies and I'm sure it's even more fun now that there are child entertainers. Glad you had a wonderful retreat!
