My silly, silly kids!

Ella and Eli have been cracking me up lately! How happy it is to at least get a good laugh out of my kids, even on the tough days!

With Ella, it is mostly her expanding vocabulary - she has so many hysterical phrases that she loves to use on a regular basis. And being such a drama queen, everything is said with such enthusiasm that you can't help but laugh! Some recent favorites are:

- Waiting for church to start, sitting in our pew. Two people file into the pew behind us, and Ella shouts out, "Hi guys!"

- Later on in church, Ella suddenly finds Eli's blanket beside her on the pew very fascinating....and decides to voice her opinion on the subject. Throwing the blanket over her head, she exclaims, "This is so awesome!"

- Yet again, at church, Ella has been getting Pez candies from the family behind us. Her friend Carter has a Grandma who comes equipped with numerous Pez dispensers and packs of refills. When Carter hands a full dispenser over the pew to Ella, she graciously accepts - "Thank you so much! Thank you so much Carter!" It made me laugh especially because I've never heard her say his name before, and it was extra cute.

- Every Sunday morning when we get dressed for church, Ella is always full of compliments. The minute her dress goes on, we hear "I'm so beautiful! It's a beautiful dress!" followed by maniacal, high pitched girly laughter. Then, as soon as my dress goes on, the compliments start flowing, "You look so beautiful Mommy! What a beautiful dress! We look like Cinderella!" : )

She is a joy to be with (when she is not fighting the task of cleaning up toys before bedtime, which is a new trend) and makes me laugh many times each day!

Eli keeps me laughing with his vocab too - even though he only makes one sound ; ) His "ga ga" cracks me up every time! Sometimes I can hear him in the morning when he gets up, "A ga. A ga ga ga. Ga." He tells such stories with just one sound, it amazes me!

I also enjoy watching him play by himself once he finds something that he likes. His favorite toy is probably this beach ball, that Ella got for her birthday.

He will throw it and chase it around for the longest time, totally content to play by himself and get some exercise in too! Now that he is walking, and doesn't crawl really at all anymore, it also makes me smile to hear his little feet patter across the floor! He is getting fast! This afternoon he played with his ball for 20 minutes by himself (allowing me to type this blog up!) What a good little boy.

Another thing that makes me laugh are his teeth. They are so hysterical that every time he smiles I start to giggle : ) He's got the most enormous gap between his top teeth that I'm sure will make him goofily cute for many years to come.
