Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cake

Yes, Halloween is over and past, but surely pumpkin season can go on a little longer, right? This is one of my favourite fall dessert recipes. I'm a huge pumpkin fan - pie, cake, icecream (anybody try the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard?) - whatever form it comes in, it warms my heart and fills my tummy. A little too full.

Recipe:

2 1/4 cups flour
1 T baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
4 eggs
2 cups pumpkin puree
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup chocolate chips

In large bowl, whisk together first 6 ingredients.
In a separate bowl, beat eggs until well mixed and foamy. Stir in pumpkin, both sugars, and oil.
Pour over flour mixture, then sprinkle with chocolate chips. Using wooden spoon, stir just until batter is smooth.
Pour batter into greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes or until cake comes away from sides of pan.

This cake is so moist, yummy, and pumpkin-y. It makes my heart go pitter-patter.

(I promise I will add a picture once I stop being so lazy.)
