Ella had an awesome trip. She says her favourite things about the trip were - visiting Science World, going to a ballet, playing with her cousins, and seeing Santa's Workshop. Here are a couple pictures of her adventures!
We were so excited to have her home again last night, and Grandma and Grandpa for a visit too! We celebrated our Christmas with them a little early since we won't see them next week.
This is the first year we've had an actual Christmas tree for the kids to decorate - and by "actual", I don't mean REAL, I mean taller than 12 inches :) In the past we've always lived in such small spaces, we've contented ourselves with a 1 foot tall tree that stood on an end table in the living room. Last year after Christmas we scored a 6 foot artificial tree for $10! It's not the fanciest of trees, but the kids think it is pretty awesome compared to what we've had in the past! So we set it up on Saturday and strung the lights on. Then when Ella got home on Sunday night we set about decorating it!
Eli is really 'into' Christmas this year. He plays 'Santa' all the time, wearing his hat and shouting heartily, "Ho Ho Ho!" He sits in his red chair and invites everyone to sit in his lap. Ella tried to get up and leave and Eli yelled at her to sit down again!
After the tree was decorated, we opened our presents from grandma and grandpa.

We sent Eli off for the night to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa at the hotel, and to have some fun in the morning (yep, we let him skip school today). He is having lots of fun today at West Edmonton Mall!
Welcome, Christmas season! One week of school left and then we'll enjoy some more fun and family time :)
