The Big E's Start School!

My big E's are in school! (Ella and Eli get labeled 'big E's' around here. Emerson is is our darling little E")

Ella had her first day last Wednesday. We drove to school, since it was gloomy and looked like rain. Here is my Kindergarten girl, getting all ready to go!

We stopped to take some obligatory photos in front of the school, then headed to the back of the school where her assigned entrance is.

Here is where all the kids in classroom 9 line up and wait for Mme. Chantelle!

And down came the rain!

There were just 4 other kids for her staggered entrance day on Wednesday. Here comes Mme. Chantelle!

We picked her up 3 hours later and Eli gave her a BIG hug :) She reported that she: learned a song, played in a sand pit, learned how "goodbye" sounds in French, saw kids playing volleyball in the gym, played with a boy named Liam at recess, and all the other kids had chocolate bars for their snack. HAHA!

Eli's first day of school was Monday! My big boy Eli! We drove him to school the first two days so he could get used to going before we sent him there on the bus.

He was a little ornery that morning and didn't seem to think it was time for school yet because it was "dark out! Not morning!" (He'll have a tough time this winter if he thinks school doesn't start until it gets light!)

All decked out in the outfit he chose for his first day....of course he wouldn't give me a smile. But this is "normal" Eli!

Once we pulled up he seemed more curious and was anxious to get inside.

Once inside we found his hanger and the spot for his shoes, then headed upstairs to his classroom.

He started playing right away with the other kids. There are 7 boys and 1 girl in his class!

I was worried about him all morning, hoping he was doing OK. Thankfully his awesome school administrator left me a voicemail late morning telling me that she had popped up to his classroom and he seemed to be doing really well and fitting in. When we picked him up later that afternoon, he seemed to have had a good day (and he didn't even have any potty accidents, which is awesome! He seems to do well away from home, but at home he is lazy and always wetting his pants.)

The past few days, both kids have really enjoyed being back at school! It took some convincing for Eli to realize that school is pretty much EVERY DAY. But he was ready and willing to climb on to the bus early on Wednesday morning!

Here we go embarking on our busy autumn schedule!
