Bed Buddies

Ella and Eli have shared a room for a couple of months now. Eli was having trouble getting to sleep in his own room (read: I was having a difficult time getting him to go to sleep in under 2 hours of fighting!), so Chris suggested we move his bed in to Ella's room. That way he'd have a little company, and maybe wouldn't feel so 'alone' while falling asleep. Since then we've had some ups and downs, but things are finally settling in to a nice routine again.

What's the magic trick to getting Eli to go to sleep?

Let him share a bed with Ella.

The little hooligan climbs in bed with his big sister at least 4 times a week. We'll tuck the kids in, read them some stories, then leave the room quietly.....then Eli will SCREAM bloody murder for 5-30 seconds. We hold the door handle tight so he thinks it's locked when he tries to escape (!) and then he'll meekly climb in with Miss Ella and snuggle in quietly for a good night's sleep. Depending on how tired she is, she'll either welcome him with open arms, or yell "NO!" and violently try to kick him back to his own bed. But usually it's the former.

I'm debating just ditching the separate beds and getting them their own double to share ; ) Or maybe I should push 2 twins together...

'Cause little man loves his big sissy.
